Personally, I don't think bluriness is that bad in a picture especially if it's a moving creature. Humans are dynamic beings and I think by having bluriness it shows that essence. I definitely feel a sence of spontanaety in this shot...i also like the green grass and the green shirt. Lighting could probably be better, but like you said you were trying different things and this photo is just capturing what was happening in real life...which happened to be dark and rainy.
